CHURCHES & CONCERT PROMOTERS: EHSS NOW BOOKING SOLO SHOWS FOR FALL & CHRISTMAS 2010 + ALL OF 2011
A Letter from Ernie:
Dear Churches & Concert Promoters,
After five wonderful years of touring exclusively with Bill and Gloria Gaither’s Homecoming series, we’re excited to announce that EHSS is headlining our own solo tour throughout 2010 and 2011.
As our 2010 schedule approaches full capacity, we’re currently booking for select fall and Christmas dates and for all of 2011. If you've submitted a date for consideration in the past that we were unable to accommodate because of our Gaither commitments, we encourage you to please fill out the "Hosting An EHSS Concert" form on our Booking Requests page.
Leaving the Gaither tour is sad on one hand; it is energizing and opens many possibilities on the other. The first leg of our solo journey, the Renewed & Reloaded Tour, began in January. We’re really enjoying spending more time singing for and loving on the fans that have made us who we are and helped make our dreams a reality.
Let me share with you EHSS’ plans for the rest of 2010 and the 2011 season.
Number and Mix of Dates: We will put on about 100 solo concerts annually — 70 in North America and 30 international shows. We’re seeking churches, performing arts centers and all interested promoters with venues that can seat 800-1,500. Production is included. Our 2011 tour will be a special event that has been in the making for nearly two years, which leads me to this announcement…
Cathedrals-Influenced Tour: This fall, we will kick off an important and very meaningful project — a tribute to the great Cathedral Quartet. As most of you know, I was a member of The Cathedrals from 1990 until they retired in December 1999. EHSS has revisited 20 of the most popular Cathedrals songs and will debut a two-CD set.

Throughout 2011, we will tour this landmark recording that honors the most beloved quartet ever, not only for the enjoyment of EHSS fans, but also for former Cathedrals followers. It will be a really memorable time when we revere the two men who made this group legendary — my late father-in-law, George Younce, and his gospel music partner of 35 years, the late Glen Payne.
The “Influenced” portion of this tour is rooted in EHSS’ latest album release, “Influenced: Spirituals & Southern Classics,” which honors artists, songwriters and sounds of the early twentieth century. This is a sequel to our first “Influenced” edition, "A Vintage Quartet Session."
We are grateful to build on the momentum of other EHSS successes this year. Our “Dream On” album was nominated for a Grammy; we received two Dove Award nominations for our “Every Light That Shines At Christmas” project, and our producer/arranger and keyboard player, Wayne Haun, won two Doves from seven nominations. Singing News Magazine fans recently nominated us as a Favorite Traditional Quartet, and Doug, Tim and I are up for Favorite Baritone, Bass and Tenor respectively.
We feel blessed to anticipate our best and most fulfilling years yet, and we hope to share an all-new evening of just EHSS with your market. We are starting the booking process now so we can talk through and pray through each location we will visit in the next 18 months. We want everyone to win and to remember these EHSS shows as the best they’ve ever experienced.
Contact us today to share your proposed EHSS concert event! To submit a North American date for consideration, please go to our Booking Requests page, and click on “Hosting An EHSS Concert.” For international show suggestions, click on the "International” tab. My manager Brian Hudson and I are waiting to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your time and support!
